Mark Mcleod uses the complexity and fallibility of memory in conjunction with the gallery space to address issues of reality and consciousness.

My name is Mark Mcleod.  I am currently an Art Instructor at Cleveland State Community College near Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Although I think it’s misleading, I consider myself a sculptor.  Typically my work does not end with a “product” but rather a story.  Lately I have been using props and performance to create work which is then documented through digital photography and video.

In May 2006, I graduated with a Masters of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Syracuse University.  The ideologies behind various movements such as Fluxus, Happenings, and Performance Art, along with a considerable interest in perception and memory have come to form the major influences of my work.  Although most of what I do is a conceptual endeavor, accessibility is hopefully achieved through a generous dose of humor.  Enjoy.
